How Our Skid Mounted Chemical Injection System Works

The working principle of a Dosimix Chemical Injection Unit is designed for foolproof accuracy and safety.

  1. Storage and Preparation: The raw chemical is stored in the skid’s tank. If the chemical requires suspension or mixing, a top-mounted agitator ensures a homogeneous mixture.
  2. Suction & Calibration: The chemical flows from the tank through a suction strainer (to remove particulates) and into the metering pump. A calibration cylinder in the suction line allows operators to temporarily isolate the tank and measure the exact drawdown rate of the pump, ensuring calibration accuracy.
  3. Pressurization & Dosing: The metering pump pressurizes the fluid to overcome the process line pressure. The pump’s stroke length or motor speed (via VFD) is adjusted either manually or automatically via the control panel to achieve the exact required flow rate.
  4. Flow Conditioning: As the fluid exits the pump, a pulsation dampener smooths out the pulsating flow typical of positive displacement pumps, ensuring a continuous, steady injection stream.
  5. Safety & Delivery: The fluid passes through a back pressure valve (to maintain resistance and accuracy) and finally through the discharge piping to the injection quill located in the main process pipe. If line pressure spikes dangerously, the safety relief valve automatically bypasses the chemical back to the storage tank, protecting the pump and piping.
